Jason Enriquez has enjoyed many of his classes at STAC. Jason鈥檚 favorite course, digital marketing, has given him the opportunity to take part in a hands-on digital marketing simulation: 鈥淚n this course, my class ran a simulation which allowed us to create ads for email marketing as well as for some social media platforms. We also did a project that allowed us to evaluate a brand and suggest improvements. My partner and I worked on a clothing brand called Project 96. We evaluated their online and social media presence and gave our opinion on things they could do to improve customer engagement. This class was incredibly hands-on, and the material was enjoyable to learn,鈥 states Jason.
鈥淪TAC gave me the opportunity to have a fresh start.鈥 As a freshman, Jason began his journey at STAC as an undeclared major. While having a general interest in business, Jason wasn鈥檛 exactly sure what he wanted to concentrate his studies on. However, after being introduced to the field of marketing from Dr. Engels鈥 introductory marketing course, Jason knew he wanted to declare Marketing as his major.
Currently, in his senior year at STAC, Jason has already accomplished many outstanding achievements. Aside from being a stellar student, Jason is also busy on campus as the Social Media Director and member of the Business Club while also serving as the Vice President of the American Marketing Association. As Social Media Director, Jason is working on improving the club鈥檚 social media presence. One of the biggest events Jason and fellow classmate Paolo Bruzzesi are currently working on is promoting STAC鈥檚 鈥淪hark Tank鈥 event, which will extend into the Spring 2021 semester.
Dr. Deirdre Engels, Professor of Marketing states, 鈥淚 really enjoy having Jason in class, he has great strategic insights and a real talent for content development. We asked him to step up as VP of the American Marketing Association and he jumped right in to relaunch our Social Media platforms and is now working closely with Paolo Bruzzesi to promote and sponsor our first STAC 鈥淪hark Tank鈥 competition this Fall. Jason has energized the club and is always willing to help his fellow Spartans.鈥
Jason explains the 鈥淪hark Tank鈥 event will be held virtually. Students will have the opportunity to submit their ideas, strategize and develop their product, and present in April to a group of panelists. Students who attend the virtual event will be able to vote on who has the best product, concept, and overall presentation. For this 鈥淪hark Tank鈥 event, there will be cash prizes for first, second, and third place. This is a fantastic way for students to not only get creative but also have the opportunity to network with other students.
Outside of campus, Jason has many musical talents and passions. He has been playing the drums since he was nine years old. Jason also has been practicing the keys and saxophone for eight years. One thing Jason would suggest to future Spartans is to get involved. He says, 鈥淭hese four years of college go by so quickly. Take advantage of the resources and opportunities that STAC offers. Don鈥檛 sit back and let the semesters go by because trust me, these four years fly by.鈥
